Ames – Messiah Equiano

“Ames’ Recollections” illustrates the harsh reality of a man who didn’t evolve with the evolving times. Ames’ business as a book publisher has been suffering due to the technological advancements in the way books are written, published and distributed. He takes a retrospective look at some of his old stomping grounds and hang-out spots that have been changed to new establishments. The film concludes with him speaking to a tree that he and his friends used to climb. He says he’s sure technology will whisk the tree away like every other thing he’s ever known. He walks away knowing life, because of technology, will never be like it “used” to be.
